"Dickens 200th Birthday Celebration" Calendar:
Friday, Sept. 14th
"Doctor Marigold" Performance and Reception;  5:30 p.m.  |  $45.00
The festivities will begin on Friday evening with light refreshments followed by a one-man performance of “Doctor Marigold” performed by Gerald Dickens. This inspiring story was written as a performance and tells the firsthand account of a traveling salesman that adopts a young deaf girl as his only friend and companion. A theatrical signing actor will share the stage with Mr. Dickens.
Performance is approximately 60 minutes.

After the show, there will be a reception in our Christmas Gallery with Gerald Dickens. During the reception, we’ll serve coffee and desserts and unveil a special birthday cake created by the wonderful bakers from televisions TLC’s “The Cake Boss” at Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, NJ.

 Saturday, Sept. 15th
"Mr. Dickens is Coming" Performance;  10:30 a.m.  |  $15.00
Performed by Gerald Dickens, this is a light-hearted and varied look at the life and character of Charles Dickens. Gerald uses scenes from the great author’s works, diary extracts and observations from those who knew and worked with him. Following will be an opportunity to meet Mr. Dickens and have him autograph books, prints or Byers’ Choice figure.
Performance is approximately 60 minutes.

"A Victorian Christmas" by the Magic Lantern Show;  Noon |  $5.00
America’s only 1890s visual extravaganza projected on a full-sized screen—the boisterous kind of show that led to the movies!  Scrooge, Santa, animated comedy and carols—all dramatized on screen by a live showman and singer/pianist.
Performance is approximately 30 minutes.

Charles Dickens' most notorious reading from the classic "Oliver Twist"– the telling of the horrific murder of Nancy by Bill Sikes – performed by Gerald Dickens. Following will be an opportunity to meet Mr. Dickens and have him autograph books, prints or Byers’ Choice figure.  Performance is approximately 60 minutes.

"Punch and Judy" Show;  11:00 a.m.  |  12:30 p.m.  |  2:30 p.m.  |  FREE
A one-of-a-kind specialty act filled with puppetry, magic and splendid amusements. During the day, Professor Horn will be able to tell you the history of Punch and Judy and share with you his collection of memorabilia.

"Unlacing the Victorian Woman" by Barbara Darlin;  Noon  |  $8.00
This program is an entertaining living history lecture about the private life of a fashionable Victorian lady – with an onstage costume change down to her unmentionables.  Not to worry, the program is rated PG and great fun for spouses.
